CES 2014 is over and Canon seems to have kept its best announcements for next month, when both the Winter Olympics and the CP+ show will take place.

While at this year's CES the Nippon manufacturer presented only three new compact cameras (N100, SX600 HS, and ELPH 340 HS), recent rumors state that the company will be introducing its new APS-C flagship camera (EOS 7D successor) during the upcoming events in February.

Japanese website Egami has recently discovered a new patent filed by Canon, which aims to bring better AF microadjustment capabilities to future high-end DSLR cameras. According to this patent, the new system will come with more options to fix the camera's front and back focusing errors and will be fully automated.

There's no information regarding the cameras that will use the new system, but expect to hear more about this in the coming months. Maybe we get the chance to see it in action at Photokina in September.
