The G1 X Mark II will become Canon's new compact camera flagship model

Earlier today we stumbled upon two new leaked images with the upcoming Canon G1 X Mark II compact digital camera flagship that revealed the somewhat different design of the new model.

While not much is known about its specs, CanonRumors has received from a trusted source a few more bits of information regarding the possible specifications of the new Canon G1 X Mark II.

Although the source states that the camera will feature a 24-150mm f/2.8-3.9 lens, according to the previously leaked photo the new G1 X Mark II seems to come with a 24-120mm f/2.0-3.9 lens.

Moreover, the new model will sport a DIGIC 6 image processor, 30 AF points, and will be capable of capturing up to 5 frames per second with focus locked and 3fps with continuous AF. The camera will also come with a tiltable touchscreen LCD, optional EVF, built-in Wi-Fi with NFC support, and dedicated Macro mode with up to 5cm minimum focusing distance. The official announcement will be made tomorrow, February 12.
