Canon recently released a new firmware update for their EOS C100, C300 and EOS-1D C cameras which, among others, comes with an improved ISO range for each model up to ISO 80,000.

Unfortunately, 2 days after the firmware was released, Canon decided to remove the C300 firmware from their download services due to severe color balance discrepancies.

Italian film maker Aldo Ricci has recently uploaded a new video showcasing the new ISO 80,000 capabilities of both C100 and C300 cameras with the latest installed firmware.

For this test, he used the following settings: k4400, C LOG and no color grade. A Canon 5D Mark III with an EF 70-200 f/2.8 lens was also used to record the test.

As you can see, both cameras can handle this high ISO setting very well, with the least amount of noise possible and when combined with the Magic Bullet “Noise II” filter, the results are more than promising.
