Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games are working hard on the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and confirmed that their teams are trying to bring many special features to the PC edition of the new first-person shooter.

The previous Modern Warfare game didn't exactly have the best of life on the PC, as a lack of things like dedicated servers caused an uproar in the community, which even threatened to boycott the game before its release.

Now, with the third game in Call of Duty's spinoff series, the two studios are trying to please the PC community, and have confirmed, through the voice of Infinity Ward's creative strategist, Robert Bowling, that efforts are being made to implement certain PC-specific features into the upcoming game.

"We had some of the [PC] guys come out to the studio a few weeks ago," Bowling told Gamefront. "We brought them here so they can see the stuff we're showing off. We're putting a lot of focus there, to make sure that our PC community has all the bells and whistles. So, the guys that have the powerhouse machines, that they can crank it up and enjoy the game."

The studios want PC gamers to have a great experience straight out of the box, and in order to achieve this, things like dedicated servers and more are being planned.

"I can't confirm anything yet, but right now we're having conversations about dedicated servers, mod tools and post launch support. We're looking at ways to incorporate that into Modern Warfare 3. We've been listening a lot to our PC guys who have been very vocal since Modern Warfare 2 about what they want to see come back to our versions of the franchise."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to sport quite a lot of features when it is released on November 8, including support for the upcoming Call of Duty Elite online subscription service, which aims at adding plenty of great new services to the Call of Duty multiplayer experience.
