14 DAY TRIAL // Call of Duty: Black Ops players can now engage in a special Double XP weekend for the multiplayer mode of the first-person shooter, deployed by Treyarch and Microsoft in order to celebrate the release of the recent Annihilation map pack.
Call of Duty: Black Ops has gained a loyal cult following due to its intense single player campaign as well as the rich multiplayer mode, which attracted quite a lot of people by keeping it fresh with the release of new downloadable content packs.
The newest one, the Annihilation DLC, was deployed for the Xbox 360 console at the beginning of the week, bringing four new maps for the competitive multiplayer and a new scenario for the cooperative Zombies mode.
In order to properly celebrate the release of the new maps, Treyarch, the developer of the game, has partnered with Microsoft to offer a special Double XP weekend on Xbox Live.
Starting today, June 1, until Monday, June 4, players will earn double the amount of experience during Black Ops multiplayer matches.

"Take the fight to "Hangar 18," located in the iconic military base Area 51, complete with experimental weapons labs, the SR-71 test hangar, and a disturbingly mysterious autopsy room. Expect Treyarch to offer the same Double XP weekend when Annihilation is going to be released for the PC or PlayStation 3 platforms.
