Besides the new phase change cooling option introduced for the GENESIS gaming desktop, Origin PC has also announced that Q1 of 2012 will mark the introduction of the redesigned EON17-S and EON15-S gaming notebooks.

The EON17-S and EON15-S are some of the most powerful Origin laptops available and are powered by Intel’s second generation Core processors, also known as Sandy Bridge.

The laptops can be fully customized on Origin's website, where users can change the paint finish of the laptop as well as the hardware that best fits their gaming needs and budget.

No less than seven different CPU options are available, including a factory overclocked Core i7-2920XM that runs 4.5GHz with Turbo Boost enabled (overclocking is only available in the 17-inch model), and the notebooks can also be configured to feature a maximum of 32GB of DDR3 memory.

In the standard configuration, graphics is handled by a 1.5GB GeForce GTX 560M graphics card, but users can also opt for an overclocked GTX 580M, as well as for a 2-way SLI in the EON17-S.

On the storage side of things, Origin’s customers can chose from a wide range of SSD, hybrid, or HDD with capacities ranging up to 750GB, while the bigger model also comes with support for dual 2.5-inch drive that can run in a RAID 0 or 1 setup.

Other features include support for a Blu-ray burner, 802.11n & Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, TV tuner support and a 2MP webcam.

On the sides of the two gaming notebooks users will find all the standard ports and connectors, but also HDMI and DVI video outputs, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, an eSATA port and S/PDIF audio out. Both screen support a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and features LED backlighting.

"Origin PC is excited to bring innovation, new designs, and industry leading support to our customers," said Kevin Wasielewski ORIGIN PC CEO and co-founder.

"Our new line of desktops and laptops with exclusive technology and free U.S based lifetime 24/7 technical support will continue to position ORIGIN PC as an industry leader in 2012 and beyond."

Pricing starts at $1,539 (1,203 EUR) for the basic EON17-S configuration that features a Core i5-2520 CPU, 4GB of system memory, a GeForce GTX 560M GPU and a 250GB 7200rpm SATA hard drive.
