Bytemobile, the leading provider of video optimization and Smart Capacity solutions for wireless operators around the world, has announced the establishing of a joint venture with China Comservice, the largest integrated services provider for the telecommunications sector in China.

The two companies teamed to address opportunities in the fast expanding network optimization market in China.

The new company is expected to provide top-of-the-line traffic management and data optimization solutions for wireless carriers in the country.

The mobile infrastructure in China has been expanding fast in the past few years, and carriers are expected to move forward with the deployment of 3G services, as well as with the adoption of 4G technologies such as LTE.

The mobile growth in the country will continue over the next years as well, and the adoption of LTE is expected to result in the delivery of new handsets capable of rivaling the Apple iPhone.

Moreover, carriers are also expected to start offering data-intensive applications to their customers, which will increase the string on their networks.

“The need to address next-generation mobile networks and the rapid adoption of high-bandwidth data services has generated growing demand for network efficiency tools such as video and web optimization in China,” said Li Ping, chairman of China Comservice.

“Operators are hungry for products and services in this space. Our joint venture will leverage the rich industry expertise, broad market access and strong local support of China Comservice to bring Bytemobile’s leading traffic management solutions to customers serving all provinces.”

The newly announced joint venture is expected to begin its operations as soon as the Chinese government provides its approval. This should happen later during the ongoing year, Bytemobile announced.

The company has been operating in China for the past several years, in collaboration with the leading wireless carriers in the country. The new joint venture resulting from their collaboration with China Comservice should expand its reach in the country.

“To date, Bytemobile solutions have been deployed in the networks of more than 130 operators in over 60 countries," said Hatim Tyabji, chairman and chief executive officer of Bytemobile.

“We have had a market footprint in China for more than seven years, with deployments at the provincial operating companies of China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom, and our own research and development center in Beijing.”
