Criterion announces that when the PC version of its 2008 racer, Burnout Paradise, reaches store shelves in February 2009, the company intends to also launch a demo of the game which will allow interested players to experience what the title has to offer and to make a decision on whether to buy it or not.

The demo will be created in such a way as to allow players to see the whole game, but for a limited period of time. Criterion also reveals that it plans to get the demo version out to as many people as possible. You will be able to get it from the Criterion website or the Electronic Arts main site but game disks will also be made available and the demo will not require a disk in the drive in order to be played.

One of the interesting things that the developers are getting ready to do is include the full multiplayer features, plus Freeburn, in the demo. This means that gamers will be able to play with friends using the time limited demo and really get the facts they need to make a decision on buying the title or not.

Criterion is also very interested in making purchasing really easy. You won’t need to go out and search for the game in brick and mortar stores. Instead, you will be able to use an in game option and get the game unlocked on the spot.

Burnout is already a success on the Xbox 360 and on the PlayStation 3 mainly because of the level of support the developers, Criterion, offer for the game. 2008 has already seen day and night cycles added to the game, motorbikes accessible to players, and 2009 promises a brand new island and packs containing fresh cars. The PC version of the title will surely be a hit if the developers manage to keep up this level of interest in their creation.
