In last year's September, the news that a loyal dog named Kiri was left without one of her eyes by a burglar who kicked her in her head made headlines.

As reported at that time, Kiri got injured while trying to protect her 86-year-old owner's home from being robbed.

Furthermore, the dog experienced quite a shock, her hence being rather frightful ever since her run-in with the burglar took place.

Recent information on this topic says that 21-year-old David Senior, the man responsible for the fact that Kiri must now make do without one eye, has been sentenced to 22 months in prison.

Sources report that David Senior, from Dudley, West Midlands, admitted to having injured the dog and to having drugs in his possession at the time of the break-in.

“She is my daily companion and all I am concerned about at the moment. I can't believe anyone could be so heartless and cruel to an animal,” Kiri's owner said at the time of the burglary.
