Video game developer Bungie has moved to trademark the name and the logo of something called the Bungie Aerospace Corporation, filling both in the state of Delaware and with the Washington Secretary of State.

The governing persons for the new business are Harold Ryan, who is the actual president of Bungie and will be the director of the Aerospace Corporation and Ondraus Jenkins, who leads corporate development at the video game developer and will be the president of the new company.

The Washington trademark application was filled on April 27 and the Delaware one is dated April 20.

It's not clear why a video game developer would seek to protect the name and the logo of a possible company called Bungie Aerospace Corporation and the developer has a policy of not commenting in any way on rumors and on speculation linked to its future projects.

It might be that Bungie is seeking to trademark a series of names that will be used in some way in the video game that it is developing for Activision Blizzard.

Rumors are suggesting that the developer, who is best known for creating the Halo series with Microsoft and the character of Master Chief, is working on another space-based shooter and the name Aerospace Corporation might be used for the game engine that will power the experience.

Other names that Bungie has sought to protect through trademarks include: Osiris, New Monarchy, Dead Orbit and Seven Seraphs.

The company might actually be registering names in order to throw speculators off and lead them away from the actual name of the video game that Bungie is actually working on.

Activision Blizzard has entered into a ten-year deal with Bungie and their agreement is linked to a whole new game universe that needs to be built from scratch.

An official announcement might arrive at the upcoming E3 trade show.
