Bulletstorm, one of the biggest upcoming first-person shooters, will receive a demo on January 25 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Among the wide array of sequels that are being released these months, including LittleBigPlanet 2, Mass Effect 2 or Killzone 3, Bulletstorm is among the few all-new intellectual properties.

As such, People Can Fly, its development studio, and Epic Games, its owner, have been promoting Bulletstorm left and right through bombastic videos and cheeky trailers that showcase the title's unique features.

Now, a demo has finally been dated by Epic Games and Electronic Arts, the publisher of Bulletstorm.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will be able to enjoy the demo on January 25, when it is released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, respectively.

Bulletstorm will have three game modes in the full version, the single-player campaign, the Anarchy multiplayer mode, and the Echo one, where players will go through locations from the campaign and try to set the highest score possible, which will then be compared to the results of their friends.

The demo will feature this Echo mode, with players in the shoes of space mercenary Grayson Hunt, who is forced to traverse a collapsed building on the deadly alien planet of Stygia.

Players will need to use Bulletstorm's Skillshot system, which rewards unique and imaginative executions done in the game world.

You will have access to three weapons, the Peace Maker Carbine, the Flail Gun grenade launcher and the Screamer revolver, not to mention the force whip which can be used to reel in enemies.

Players will be able to set high scores in the demo and see how they rack up against their friends,

What's more, if you download the demo and then get the full game, it will automatically unlock platform-specific upgrades for the Anarchy mode, ranging from the Crimson Leash to the Stealth Armor.

Bulletstorm will be launched on February 22 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
