Announced for the first time at the CES 2011 fair back at the beginning of 2011, Buffalo's AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N router has finally become available in Europe, where it can be purchased starting at 86 Euros.

The most distinguishable feature of the new Bufflao router is its dual-band support, which enabled the router to operate both in the 5GHz (WiFi a/n) and in the 2.4GHz (WiFi b/g/n) band simultaneously.

Thanks to its 2x2 MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) antenna configuration, the router is able to achieve wireless transfer speeds up to 300Mbps, while it also includes four Gigabit Ethernet ports.

A fifth Ethernet connector is used as a WAN port and this is placed right near an USB 2.0 port.

This can prove to be particularly useful in conjunction with the DD-WRT firmware (which is compatible with Buffalo's device) as it enables users to attach an external storage device or a printer, which can then be accessed by any of the devices connected to the router.

In addition, the DD-WRT firmware also allows Buffalo's creation to support professional features such as VPN (PPTP, OpenVPN), VLAN (tagging), Virtual AP (multi-SSIDs for multi-connection and security), RADIUS server, hot spot support, radio and access scheduling or iPv6 support to name just a few.

“Buffalo has always delivered high quality, high performing wireless solutions that consumers have come to rely on,” said Ralph Spagnola, vice president of sales at Buffalo Technology.

“With the addition of the dual band WZR-HP-AG300H to our wireless product portfolio, Buffalo now offers the largest and most feature-rich family of DD-WRT powered wireless solutions on the market,” concluded the company's rep.

The Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H is already available for purchase from various e-tailers across Europe and, as mentioned previously, prices start at 86.20 Euro including VAT. (via HardwareLuxx)
