Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner (formerly Kardashian) announced yesterday that they had decided to live separately because it was what made sense for them at this stage in their marriage. In a new statement, Bruce denies reports that they’re heading for divorce.

As he puts it, the decision to separate did not have anything to do with not getting along anymore but rather with living in a way that made them both happier.

As such, it’s nothing more than this, a separation.

“I'm doing great. Kris is happy, I'm happy. Nobody is filing for divorce,” Bruce tells People magazine, following yesterday’s rumors that he wanted to divorce Kris as soon as possible.

At this point, it doesn’t even make sense to get a divorce, especially since Bruce and Kris are sitting on a $125 million (€92.4 million) fortune and have no prenup.

The divorce would get too nasty and, perhaps just as importantly, it would ruin the family reality show, which is already struggling in the ratings.

Bruce himself tells People that he’ll be back for a new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, while TMZ reports that the separation will be a “major plot line” in the upcoming season.

“We're told the upcoming season will show Bruce and Kris living separately but coming together at various points for family events... and there will be a lot of them. We're told the family is very conscious of the fact that they can make more in syndication,” the report notes.

In other words, even if a divorce would be what they both wanted, Kris and Bruce are forced to stay together legally (not practically) because of the lack of a prenup and because of the show, which actually stands to receive a boost in ratings thanks to the announcement. People will want to know how they manage.
