In April this year, as per her father's request, Britney Spears' fiancé Jason Trawick became her co-conservator, thus obtaining legal control over her life. Britney still doesn't understand why the conservatorship is still necessary, especially considering she's been doing so well lately.

Radar Online has learned that the pop star is planning to ask the judge to finally grant her complete freedom as regards her business empire and personal life, bringing the conservatorship to an end.

She doesn't understand why it still stands when it's clear she can handle her own business so remarkably, sources familiar with the situation say.

“Britney very much wants the conservatorship to end, she doesn’t understand why it has gone on this long. Britney is now a judge on a national hit television show, which will be live when it airs this fall. Britney feels she is ready to regain control of her life now,” the spy says.

Right now, Britney is working on season 2 of the US version of X Factor, a challenging and stressful job she's convinced she can pull off, which, in turn, should provide whatever proof was still necessary that she's fully able to take care of herself, both professionally and personally.

“Britney’s dad, Jamie, has conservatorship of her personally and professionally, and this has been going on now for almost four-and-half years. When she signed on to become a judge for The X Factor, Simon Cowell suggested that Jason Trawick become one of her conservators because Jamie didn’t want be on set with Britney,” the source explains.

“Jason is basically in charge of Britney’s life now, and Jamie hasn’t lived with her in years. Britney’s doctors just don’t feel she is ready for the conservatorship to end though, as she has a very complicated mental health diagnosis,” the spy says.

“However, Brit is hopeful that once she proves herself on X Factor this will be the impetus for the conservatorship to end,” adds the same insider.

Britney will be back in court shortly and, Radar claims, the way she handles herself on X Factor will be the one thing that could tip the balance in her favor or her father's.

In other words, if she can cope with the pressure and the stress on the show, she might as well get to see her wish granted and the conservatorship end.

For those who don't know, following Britney's very public 2008 meltdown that even saw her rushed to the hospital on an involuntary psychiatric hold, her father has been in charge of every aspect of her life, from her business decisions to details of a more personal nature, such as her entourage, how much money she must spent on food and clothing, and medical care.

In April, Jason Trawick, her former manager and now fiancé, was appointed co-conservator.
