Britney Spears adds more dates in Australia as demand from fans leads to all tickets selling out in minutes

“Welcome back, Britney Spears,” fans in Australia seem to be saying to the Princess of Pop as they rush to buy tickets for her first-ever series of concerts in the Land Down Under. As a matter of fact, fans here are so eager to see her perform that they have already bought all tickets made available in just minutes, which has prompted organizers to add more dates, as TheWest.com can confirm.

Initially just a rumor, the Australian leg of the Circus Starring Britney Spears Tour was officially confirmed at the beginning of June, as we also informed you. The announcement came straight from Britney herself and hinted at six dates to take place in November – more have now been added because of excessive demand, the aforementioned publication says. Tickets for the recently added shows are still available but they are selling so fast that fans must hurry to get their hands on one.

“Organizers of Britney Spears’ Australian tour have been forced to add a second Perth show to her itinerary after tickets sold out in minutes this morning. […] Due to massive demand across Australia, extra shows have been added in all cities. In Sydney, two shows that went on sale at 9am today sold out, and a third show was announced. A fourth Sydney show has now been added with tickets to go on sale next Thursday. Spears will perform at the Burswood Dome on Friday November 6 and Saturday November 7.” says the Australian publication of the new dates.

When news broke that Britney would be taking the Circus tour to other countries initially not included in the schedule, speculation started to built up that it was her father that was forcing her to tour, despite not being physically and mentally ready, to recoup for the losses incurred during her inactivity period. Britney denied the report saying that she was the only one making Circus happen – and that included the changes and extended dates.

“A lot of people thought I wouldn’t make it. People thought I was finished, didn’t they? I guess for a while last year it looked that way. Nothing I can do about the past. But I’m hoping to prove them wrong now. And I have really put everything I have into this new show. I’m not sad any more. I was just so sad for such a long time, but not any more. And you know what? That feels really, really good. I’m happy. Truly. I feel like the girl who has it all. I have my family, my boys, my friends, my fans, this show.” Britney was saying a while back.
