Camp Spears denies allegations that current boyfriend Jason Trawick is abusive to Britney

Yesterday, Star magazine dropped a bomb on all Britney Spears fans: her former husband, Jason Alexander, told the tab that she told him her current beau, Jason Trawick, would often beat her up. Radar Online even got a hold on an audio recording made during one of their talks.

Alexander, who was married to the pop star for about 55 hours back in 2004, claims that he and Britney still keep in touch. In fact, they’re on such good terms that she confided in him about the abusive relationship she has with her current boyfriend, former manager Jason Trawick.

He gave her a black eye just recently and would often beat her up, Britney reportedly told Alexander. She was also pregnant with his baby earlier this year but miscarried, it was also claimed.

Radar posted the audio recordings Alexander reportedly made while talking to Britney – and, assuming they’re true, there’s some pretty horrible allegations made on them.

“I didn’t want the public knowing about it and I didn’t want to file anything, so everyone could find out. So I’ve just left him and changed my number,” Britney says on the tape, when Alexander asks her why she didn’t leave Trawick after he beat her up the first time.

She also says that he’s trying to cash in on her fame, by selling older paparazzi pictures to the media and claiming they’re recent and they’re still together.

Britney’s camp is adamant that the tapes that have surfaced since Star came out with its explosive story are fakes – that’s not even the pop star on them, TMZ reports, citing a statement straight from camp Spears.

“Suffice it to say, Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney. This is just another example of the irresponsible nature of the tabloid media relying on shoddy sources and false information for the sole purpose of selling magazines, without regard to the truth and without regard to who they hurt in the process,” reads the statement.

According to the official line, Star knew before running the story that it was complete bogus, yet it went ahead with printing it. Moreover, the statements attributed to Alexander are also fake.

“The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a complete fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years. These irresponsible statements are defamatory and Britney Spears’ legal team will be taking legal action against all of the appropriate parties,” reads the same statement.

Right now, camp Spears is looking into legal options to handle Star and Alexander’s outrageous claims.
