Lorna Bliss is the number one Britney Spears lookalike in the United Kingdom. As expected, such distinction comes at a very high price, since being the Princess of Pop is anything but a piece of cake, especially in terms of maintenance and being able to buy all the outfits she has, as Lorna reveals in a recent Daily Mail piece.

According to the young woman, she knew ever since she first began doing Britney that this would not be an easy job. It was the year 2001 when she first got a gig as Spears, and now, so many years later, she has come to understand that she is deeply grateful to Britney for making this happen, even if it’s a job that costs her well over £15,000 a year. The biggest challenge in this sense is, according to Bliss, keeping up with the many changes of style and look that Britney is such a huge fan of.

“She changes her appearance so often and it’s very expensive to keep up. It’s not just her clothes; it’s also looking after my skin, changing my hair, making sure my nails are manicured, and working out. I even shaved my hair off when she did. It was daunting, but I felt incredibly proud that I’d been true to the character.” Lorna tells the British publication. Emulating everything that Britney does, even down to gaining or dropping one pound in weight, is vital to make her impersonation believable, Bliss reveals, which is why she’s willing to go that extra mile just to make sure the job is well done.

Speaking strictly numbers, the famous lookalike admits that getting hair extensions is the worst – and most expensive – part of the deal, since she has to change them every month, just like Britney also does. Facials and all sorts of other beauty treatments (including microdermabrasion) are also a must, since getting clear, youthful skin is not an issue with Spears. Regular visits to the salon for a retouching of the roots and subscriptions to the gym too are included on the list – and it all adds up to a whopping £15,200 a year just in treatments.

“I have to have everything tailor-made and one costume alone can cost between £400 and £500. When Britney puts on weight, it’s so much easier for me as I can relax a bit and eat what I want. But when she loses it, I also have to follow suit. When she slimmed down recently for her tour, I went on a strict diet, cutting out junk food, bread and butter, swopping fullfat milk for skimmed and not eating after 8pm. Plus, I followed a grueling regime of swimming two or three times a week; doing two or three hour-long weekly gym sessions incorporating cardio work and weights; and doing 200 stomach crunches a day. But for all the effort, I wouldn’t change it. Being Britney has totally changed my life – I owe her a lot.” Lorna Bliss concludes by saying.
