14 DAY TRIAL // As she was slowly climbing the charts and rising in people’s music preferences as the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears’ image was that of a toned, blonde sensation, with blue eyes and moves to die for. Much has changed in the meantime, what with the singer going through a nervous breakdown and basically losing control over all aspects of her life, but, inch by inch, the older Spears is beginning to reemerge.
And the first step she’s taking in that direction is dying her hair back to peroxide blonde, as Splash News can confirm. Britney spent no less than nine hours at a beauty salon in West Hollywood, where she had her dark brown locks dyed in bright blonde, much in the manner Lindsay Lohan also has just a few days ago. Supposedly, Britney also got new extensions to go along with the fresh hair-dye, which could be one of the reasons she looked so down when she headed out, gossip mags are pointing out.
Britney’s hair has been through a lot in recent months, and we’re not necessarily talking here about the by-now infamous head-shaving moment when she buzzed all her hair in front of the paparazzi, supposedly in a moment of drunken rage. As fans must remember, Britney is a fan of do-it-yourself dye jobs, which means she has donned more colors than any other celebrity out there. What with going from black or dark brown to blonde – which, as all girls must know, is one of the most complicated and damaging beauty treatments – and having extensions put, questions about whether she still has at least some natural hair have again started popping up.
Either way, most fans see Britney’s latest change as a sign that things are heading towards normalcy again. Speculation has it that she’s about to regain full control over her finances and be again allowed to make her own decisions as regards personal life and business choices, as she’s been spotted driving her own car recently and, now that she’s blonde again, it seems pretty clear her comeback is, indeed, the real deal.
