Fans of the ABC televised dance competition must already know that this week’s elimination was, again, quite a surprising one, as Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were sent home, while Palin and her partner were kept on. The pro dancer is not too happy about it.

Tension is starting to build up on the show, with Bristol reportedly making some comments to the media about her rivals until just recently, Maksim and Brandy, comments that Maksim really doesn’t appreciate.

Speaking with E! Online about the elimination, the pro dancer reveals that it’s the hardest he’s had to go through to date for the simple reason that this has officially been the “most ridiculous” season in the show’s history.

It’s not that Palin is not good enough a dancer to be worthy to be on the show, Maksim says, but rather that the entire system based on which it’s decided who stays and who goes is flawed.

“For me personally, it’s probably the one that’s the hardest to swallow...This season has just been ridiculous since day one. Just one after another after another. Brandy and I think this is the culminating point of this season, it just came crashing down. We almost feel like the effort wasn’t worth it,” Maksim says for E!.

“I felt really disappointed with Bristol. On Monday night, I found out that she went on record saying that I said something about her along the lines of, ‘I don’t like her because she’s still here and she’s not a good enough dancer.’ Every time I’ve opened my mouth about Bristol, I’ve been nothing but supportive...” the dancer goes on to say.

“For her to come out on Monday night and totally smear my name the way she did, that’s just completely uncalled for... I have no idea where she got it from, but wherever she got it from, shame on her and shame on whoever told her that,” he adds.

According to him, the voting system is flawed, which might easily make one believe conspiracy theories making the rounds, according to which the winner is determined at the start of the season by producers – and it’s only those who bring in the ratings who win, regardless of dance skills.

Those who believe politics rule over DWTS to the disadvantage of skills are not alone in doing so: Steven N. Cowan, 67 Vermont, Wis., shot his television set as Bristol Palin danced because he was convinced she was on the show because of her mother’s political background.

A SWAT team managed to get Cowan out of the house after 15 hours, EW informs. Neither he nor his wife was harmed, but he’s been charged with second-degree reckless endangerment.
