Multiplayer-oriented Brink, from developer Splash Damage and publisher Bethesda Softworks, has managed to perform well during its first week on sale and has taken over the number one position in the United Kingdom video game chart.

Brink has not been well received by critics, who said that the game lacked a clear distinction between the single player and the multiplayer sides and attacked the quality of the Artificial Intelligence that is a big part of the game.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, the game published by Disney Interactive Studios, has also managed a strong launch, coming in at second place in the United Kingdom, showing that the long-running LEGO-powered series, which focuses on destruction and building, still has a lot of life left in it.

Zumba Fitness, the dance and weight loss game from 505 Games that was recently revealed as having a sequel in development, has lost its number one position but has only fallen to the third position of the podium.

Portal 2, the Valve created puzzle and platforming game, has also slipped down two positions, to reach fourth spot in the chart while Call of Duty: Black Ops, the first person shooter from Activision Blizzard, has went from fourth spot to fifth.

The new Mortal Kombat video game from Warner Bros. Interactive has also been in free fall, reaching sixth place after occupying third during the previous week while LEGO managed to also take over seventh place with its Star Wars game, The Clone Wars.

FIFA 11 from EA Sports is continuing to do well six months after launch and stands in eight place while Crysis 2, the first-person shooter from Crytek, is in ninth place.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by MX vs. ATV Alive from THQ, with Operation Flashpoint and Pokemon exiting the chart.
