Brink, the cooperative-oriented first-person shooter from Splash Damage and Bethesda, is set to receive a new patch this week, which aims at solving some of the many issues encountered by players.

Brink was hyped a lot before its release, but after the launch that happened two weeks ago, players were disappointed because of the gameplay filled with glitches and the online mode that was prone to lag and freezes.

Now, in order to solve some of the issues, Brink's developer, Splash Damage, announced that a patch is going to be deployed onto the PC and Xbox 360 platforms, while one for the PlayStation 3 console is also in the works, but will appear a bit later.

First up, on the PC, Bethesda and Splash Damage say that the patch is in the final testing phases and that it will be released this week, containing fixes for issues like graphical performance, both on Nvidia and AMD cards, sound problems in certain maps, and lots of other things.

"The server browser is tweaked in this update, as well; among other things, a new filter allows you to display only servers with a certain number of players on them, and full servers will no longer be filtered out completely. There are some smaller fixes for minor issues including your character’s voice occasionally resetting when deleting another character, and a memory leak when alt-tabbing out of the game," the companies added.

Last but not least, the dedicated server infrastructure for the PC edition will be upgraded, in order to improve online gameplay.

On the Xbox 360, the patch is in the final stages of approval with Microsoft, and will also be out later this week.

The lag issues reported by many players on the console are going to be fixed, while improvements for the online gameplay and regular one during the campaign are also going to be a part of the update.

On the PlayStation 3, Splash Damage revealed that a patch is also coming, but, because of the PSN outage, it couldn't properly develop and test it.

Still, the developer says the update is also going to appear at the end of the week.
