Summit Entertainment releases new official poster for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”

The first official trailer for the third installment of “The Twilight Saga,” “Eclipse,” was released about two weeks ago, so it was high time that Summit Entertainment also put out an official poster. It has just been released and it’s already causing a frenzy online with the millions of fans around the world.

The artwork does not give away much of the plot of the third film – for those fans who haven’t yet read Stephenie Meyer’s novels, on which all installments of the movie franchise are based. It shows Bella Swan (Kirsten Stewart) looking at the camera, with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) behind her. The bleak, cloudy backdrop stays true to the atmosphere in the posters for the first two movies as well.

“Summit Entertainment has released this new poster for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, hitting conventional theaters and IMAX on June 30. Directed by David Slade from a Melissa Rosenberg script, the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s book stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone and Dakota Fanning,” Coming Soon says.

“In Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob – knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life,” the same movie e-zine adds of the plot.

As the poster also announces, “Twilight: Eclipse” is scheduled for US theatrical release on June 30. It’s a long way to go from now, but the wait will certainly be filled with more surprises from Summit, so make sure you keep an eye on this space for more.
