Boost Mobile, the Sprint division that offers no contract wireless phones and services, announced on Wednesday along with mobile phone maker Motorola, the release of the carrier's first push-to-talk slider phone, the Motorola Debut i856. The new mobile phone comes towards Boost Mobile's users with all the benefits of a slider handset while also including instant communication features.
According to the wireless carrier, the new Motorola Debut i856 can easily prove to be a great choice for users around the country, as in sports nationwide walkie-talkie and enhanced features, and fits greatly with the company's $50 Monthly Unlimited plan (which includes unlimited, nationwide, anytime calling, text messaging, wireless Web and walkie-talkie service).
“Our wildly popular Monthly Unlimited service is attracting customers who are more likely to purchase higher-end phones,” said Matt Carter, Boost Mobile President. “The Motorola Debut i856 phone meets the need for this demand with compelling multimedia features, including a 1.3MP camera with video capture, instant music access and Stereo Bluetooth capabilities into a sleek but durable design that fits comfortably in a pocket or purse.”
The features list of the new phone includes nationwide Walkie Talkie capability, a sliding design, 1.3-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, stereo Bluetooth, built-in GPS receiver, music player with standard audio jack, text messaging and multimedia messaging features, speakerphone, and a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 8GB of additional storage space.
The new Motorola Debut i856 is added to a series of other Motorola handsets available from Boost Mobile, which also includes entry-level handsets and mid-range clamshell phones, along with a QWERTY keyboard device. Motorola Debut, the operator states, is already available for purchase from its website, and features a price tag of $169.99. The handset will become available through Boost Mobile retail and distribution channels shortly after the online launch.
