Boingo Wireless, the worldwide leading Wi-Fi hotspots network, has announced today that its authentication software and Boingo Mobile service are now available for Research In Motion's BlackBerry smartphones. According to the company, BlackBerry users can now enjoy one-click, high-speed access to the Boingo Wi-Fi network, offering them access to a number of more than 100,000 hotspots.

The company has also announced that users can download the authentication software and Boingo Mobile from the Boingo Download Center. The handsets that will initially support the Boingo Mobile application are BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Curve 8320 and BlackBerry Bold smartphones, yet other BlackBerry devices are also expected to see support in the near future.

The new Boingo Mobile application can be downloaded from the company's website, which says that it is aimed at improving the Wi-Fi user experience of any BlackBerry mobile phone owner out there. The application offers a convenient, automated option of connectivity, and it has also been designed to alert the user of a Boingo hotspot, while also being able to connect to the network with a single click.

“Boingo Mobile is about ease of use and a low-cost, high-speed alternative to cellular data,” said Jonathan Mendelson, general manager of mobile and product management. “BlackBerry users can seamlessly switch to a Boingo Wi-Fi connection when they’re online using data-intensive applications.”

Boingo has also announced that the addition of support for the BlackBerry platform is another step it has taken into expanding the support it offers to different smartphones on the market, including those running under the Android, iPhone, Symbian Series 60 and Windows Mobile operating systems. The Boingo Mobile Blackberry software is based on public beta testing by Boingo Labs, and will continue to see updates aimed at enhancing the user experience on the Boingo network even more, the company has added. The application is available for download on Boingo's website, here.
