MTV Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are announcing that LEGO Rock Band, the upcoming brick-powered music game, is set to feature one of the most important bands launched in the United Kingdom, Blur.

The likenesses of Damon Albarn, the singer, Graham Coxon, the guitarist, Alex James, the bassist, and Dave Rowntree, the drummer, will be featured in the title while performing their best known track, “Song 2.” It's not clear whether the band can be used by players to perform other tracks or whether they are limited to just one track.

With the tag line “Build a Band and Rock the Universe,” LEGO Rock Band is set to combine the friendliness of creating characters and venues out of the famous bricks with the thrilling experience of playing well known music from successful artists. MTV Games and Warner Bros. have already offered the full track listing for LEGO Rock Band and we know that another British rocker, the legendary David Bowie, will be featured in the game singing “Let's Dance.”

The aim of LEGO Rock Band is to make the music simulation experience more accessible to families and casual players. The songs included are no longer only guitar driven but come from more pop-oriented artists. The only drawback to the marriage between LEGO and Rock Band could be the fact that the brick design of the game might make it hard for players to discern between bands and venues.

LEGO Rock Band is being developed for the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS. All the versions of the title are set to be released in November and will likely attract a younger age group than Rock Band 2 or the more recent Beatles videogame.
