MTV Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have revealed that the latest high profile star to be featured in the upcoming LEGO Rock Band is David Bowie, to be present in the videogame as a brick figurine.

He will initially appear playing his “Let's Dance” hit, which is part of the playlist of LEGO Rock Band. The title should be released for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Nintendo Wii and the DS handheld. All the versions of the game should arrive on November 3.

The concept behind LEGO Rock Band is to offer an experience that combines the success of Rock Band when it comes to music simulation with the attraction power that LEGO-branded videogames developed while tackling franchises like Batman and Star Wars.

The actual gameplay of the title will be the same as in Rock Band, with players trying to hit notes as they scroll down the screen. One significant difference is that the difficulty level will be dialed down to allow for a wider variety of gamers to enjoy the music playing while the notes themselves will not be appearing as LEGO bricks.

TT Games, the developer of LEGO Rock Band, is also interested in including challenges based on LEGO settings and bricks, but it's not clear how many of them will make it to the release date.

David Bowie is a well known English musician performing since the '70's and. He became an important influence over other performers. “Let's Dance” is one of the most instantly recognizable songs that he has created and, although it lacks the depth of something like “Space Oddity,” it can reach a wide array of potential players while also lending some “Rock” credentials to the LEGO-powered videogame.
