Blogger is now asking users for suggestions and ideas on how to make the service better, after the first such campaign proved quite successful.

Google is not lacking in people with great visions for products, but that doesn't mean that it can't use some help from the users, the ones that are bound to know the best what works and what doesn't, and what they need the most.

"A little over a year ago, we asked all of you to speak your mind and let us know what we could do to make Blogger better," Blogger's Brett Wiltshire wrote.

"Two thousand ideas and seventy-five thousand votes later, we had quite the laundry list of feature requests and feedback to dig through," he added.

"Just as we did last year, we’re asking for your input on our Product Ideas page. As always, our ears are open to your feedback and your input has been invaluable over the years in helping us figure out where to put our time and energy," he announced.

Users can add anything from specific features they'd like to see in Blogger, to improvements and changes, to more general suggestions about the service.

Last year's campaign proved quite fruitful and many of the new features introduced this year are the result of user suggestions.

The snazzy new template designer which makes it easier for anyone to create a custom theme for their blog was one such suggestion.

The spam filter for comments, arguably a crucial feature, was also a popular idea that a lot of Blogger users requested.

The integrated statistics feature is another example. The Stats page is a sort of built-in streamlined Analytics for Blogger. It enables users to keep track of their visitors and see which posts are the most popular. The stats tool has been expanded to other products.

The list goes on with the improved Post Editor, Jump Breaks and many others. Blogger is now running another suggestions campaign to, hopefully, reiterate last year's success.
