The developers working on World of Warcraft and Diablo III at Blizzard have again talked, at the official BlizzCon event, about bringing the company's video game to devices like the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 or the Nintendo Wii, saying that they will only do it when the experience is better than that on the PC.

J. Allen brack, who is the production director working on the MMO World of Warcraft, has said, “We’d happily put a game on console if it played well on console.”

Jay Wilson, who is the game director working on Diablo III, has again stated that there are no plans at the moment to bring the upcoming hack and slash title to gaming consoles.

For a long time Blizzard has claimed that as a gaming company it is interested in consoles but it has also said that the titles that it creates are at the moment best enjoyed on the dying platform that is the PC.

Blizzard might have a point if we look at how genres like real time strategy and MMOs are doing on consoles.

Diablo III would be a great candidate for a port to consoles because of the quick action it delivers and because the controls could probably be concentrated on the standard controllers for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, although a bit of creative thinking might be needed in order to simulate the numerical hotkeys.

At BlizzCon the company has confirmed that it has plans to launch a friends and family beta for Diablo III, which will presumably be followed by another beta which is aimed at the general public.

Wilson says that the game is more than half way done but that there are some more features that Blizzard is still interested in adding.

The company also talked about Starcraft 2, saying that Heart of the Swarm will not arrive before the end of next year.
