Although Virgin Mobile confirmed last week that it will offer the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 smartphone on August 16th, little was known about the phone's prices.

One week ahead of their official launch both smartphones arrive in Virgin Mobile's inventory system with a $500 price tag.

However, these might not be the final price for the phones, as Bell has already confirmed that the Bold 9900 will be available for a suggested retail price of $599.95.

Another Canadian major carrier, TELUS has confirmed that it will launch both BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 in the next few weeks, but has yet to announce the smartphone's prices.

Rogers has also revealed the prices for BlackBerry Bold 9900, Torch 9860 and 9810, with new three-year agreements.

BlackBerry fans who were expecting for Torch 9800's sequel will probably be happy with RIM's newly announced BlackBerry Torch 9810, which comes with the same 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display, but with a slightly higher 480 x 640 pixels resolution.

Unlike the Torch 9800 that comes with BlackBerry OS 6.0 on board, the 9810 is powered by RIM's latest BlackBerry 7 operating system and packs more memory – 8GB storage, 768 MB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The smartphone comes with the usual slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities.

It is also worth mentioning that the Torch 9810 is equipped with a 1.2 GHz processor and offers users a full array of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, HSDPA and HSUPA, GPS with A-GPS support and microUSB.

Furthermore, the Bold 9900 comes with a small 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display and features a portrait QWERTY keyboard.

The rest of the specs of both smartphones are similar, including the NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities.
