The BlackBerry Storm 9530 is reported to have also received a leaked OS these days. The new platform build that is now available on the Web for the device's users is 4.7.0.114. According to the news, the most important feature that the new leaked OS comes with is a newly updated version of the cut-and-paste function included in the first BlackBerry device to feature a touchscreen.

The new version of said feature does not require the owners of a BlackBerry Storm 9530 device to use two fingers so that they could highlight a block of text that would then be edited, instead using a gray rectangle that allows them to highlight the specific text easier.

For what it's worth, it is still uncertain whether the new leaked firmware comes with such a nice number of improvements besides the above mentioned feature. According to some of the users that downloaded the new OS, the dial pad would not appear on the screen during a call, being replaced by the QWERTY keyboard. At the same time, the firmware does not fix the problems the icons had with the colors being faded.

The QWERTY keyboard is available in portrait mode still, while the “Enter” key has been replaced by a “Go” button when the browser is used. In addition, some of the applications are reported to work faster than before, while the accelerometer is not as sensitive as before, so the screen will not switch its orientation as easily as it used to, this being an improvement.

Verizon and RIM might not release this OS build as the official firmware update after all. Yet, if you're interested in downloading and installing the leaked OS, you should take into consideration the fact that it is not official. At the same time, make sure you back up your device before starting the update process, just to make sure you won't lose any personal data.
