Verizon's CEO has had the phone for weeks

It seems that the highly anticipated BlackBerry Storm 2 smartphone from the Canadian maker Research In Motion should indeed make an appearance on the market in the near future. Not only that the handset has been rumored to come within a few weeks over and over, but it has also been spotted in the hands of Verizon's CEO Lowell McAdam, and a BlackBerry Storm 2 Competitive Comparison Chart also leaked into the wild.

The aforementioned chart emerged on CrackBerry, and it shows the handset's capabilities in comparison with those featured by devices like the BlackBerry Bold and the iPhone 3G on AT&T, and the Palm Pre that is available on Sprint. For what it's worth, there are not too many impressive things that can be seen on the chart, and even the choice of compared devices doesn't seem to be the most fortunate one, yet the BlackBerry Storm 2 is still showed as being the best option of all.

The only major points where Storm 2 seems to rule are those concerning its global capabilities, which lack on Sprint's Palm Pre, the removable memory, which is not available on AT&T's iPhone 3G, or the over-the-air music download features, which are one of the shortcomings of Bold. At the same time, we can also note that Storm 2 features a 3.2MP camera with flash, unavailable on the other devices, but also the fact that it sports a smaller display than the iPhone.

Even so, the handset is still great, compared not only to these phones, but to others as well, especially the first BlackBerry Storm Research In Motion pushed to the market (in a hurry, we might add). As stated above, Verizon's CEO already has one unit in his hands and has played with it for the past few weeks, but it was only recently that he showed it to the world. The launch date shouldn't be too far away, so stay tuned to learn more details on this.
