Mobilkom Austria and Research In Motion (RIM) announced this week the launch of the new BlackBerry 8700v in Austria. Mobilkom Austria is the first mobile operator with an EDGE network in Austria to introduce the new BlackBerry 8700v. The 8700v delivers faster Web browsing, application performance and attachment viewing and includes a full QWERTZ keyboard in a new, sleek, lightweight design. A quick look at the 8700v's features reveals an Intel PX901 cellular processor (based on the Intel XScale architecture), 65K color LCD display with intelligent light sensing technology for optimal viewing, Bluetooth, and speakerphones.

In addition, BlackBerry 8700v features support for 'push' email, phone, SMS, browser, organiser and corporate data applications. The BlackBerry 8700v was completely re-engineered to boost performance and features an Intel processor as well as 64 MB flash memory and 16 MB SRAM.

"Austrian customers can purchase the new BlackBerry 8700v starting from February 14th, 2006 and benefit from Mobilkom Austria's fast network to experience the full capabilities of this new device", says Dr. Hannes Ametsreiter, CMO Mobilkom Austria.
