The so-called BlackBerry Oslo leaked online less than a week ago and everyone thought the Canadian company was planning to launch a slightly redesigned BlackBerry Passport smartphone, even though the handset didn't sell that well.

Well, it looks like BlackBerry doesn't plan to release another version of Passport, but another smartphone in the Porsche Design lineup.

According to BerryReview, the BlackBerry Oslo is the next-generation Porsche Design, which will be available on the market as P'9984.

The reason the Porsche Design logo doesn't appear on the BlackBerry Oslo might be the fact that the device in the photo is an early version of the upcoming handset.

The first image of the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9984 “Keian” leaked back in April, and the specs going along with it are an exact match to those of the Passport. The design is slightly different, but the form factor is the same overall.

Word has it that the Porsche Design P'9984 “Keian” will be available for purchase for no less than $2,000 (€1778), which is quite a lot, but not unusual for a device in the BlackBerry's premium lineup.

The only difference between the Porsche Design model and BlackBerry Passport when it comes to specs might be the amount of storage.

It will be launched sometime in September

The Keian might come with 64GB or perhaps 128GB, but apart from that, there shouldn't be other specs differences between the two smartphones.

It's also worth mentioning that the Porsche Design P'9984 “Keian” will ship with the BlackBerry 10.3.2 operating system right out of the box, which is the latest version of the platform.

Moreover, you should expect a 4.5-inch LCD display that supports 1440 x 1440 pixel resolution, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and “leather backing.”

BlackBerry fans waiting for another premium smartphone coming from the Canadian company will have to be patient because the Porsche Design P'9984 “Keian” will be launched on September 20, or around that date.
