It appears that Canadian carrier Mobilicity will soon debut the affordable BlackBerry Curve 9360 smartphone.

The folks over at MobileSyrup have just discovered that the phone is now listed by Research in Motion (RIM) to the BlackBerry Software update section with the carrier's devices.

Although Mobilicity recently introduced the BlackBerry Bold 9900, RIM fans will have a cheaper alternative with Curve 9360.

No details about the phone's price, but the Curve 9360 is already available from other Canadian carriers and mostly are pricing it at around $350 (about 255 EUR).

One of the first BlackBerry 7 smartphones unveiled by RIM back in August, the Curve 9360 is among the last to hit shelves.

Previously rumored as BlackBerry Curve Apollo, the smartphone is delivered with NFC (Near Field Communication) support and a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The phone measures 109 x 60 x 11 mm and weighs only 99g (battery included).

Given its hardware configuration, the Curve 9360 will probably be the cheapest BlackBerry 7 smartphone.

However, according to RIM, the handset provides the same enhanced performance when it comes to Internet browsing or multimedia.

BlackBerry Curve 9360 does not come with a touchscreen, instead it offers a standard 2.44-inch display with 480 x 360 pixels resolution, along with a portrait QWERTY BlackBerry keyboard and an optical track-pad.

Furthermore, the smartphone is powered by an 800 MHz processor and embeds 512 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card pre-installed).

There's also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features a LED flash and video recording capabilities (no autofocus included).

Other highlights of the handset include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, along with microUSB and GPS with A-GPS support.

According to the manufacturer, Curve 9360's 1040 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 6 hours of talk time.
