Less known than the more popular Bold 9930, Torch 9810 and Torch 9850, BlackBerry Curve 9350 has just made its debut at Sprint.

The smartphone is now available for purchase for $49.99 (about 37 EUR), after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year agreement.

However, customers who want to avoid being tied by a long term contract can acquire the Curve 9350 for a suggested retail price of $349.99 (about 262 EUR).

Of the new BlackBerry 7 smartphones launched on the market, the Curve 9350 is the less featured and offers a cheap alternative to BlackBerry fans who want to experience the advantages of the latest Research in Motion (RIM) operating system.

According to RIM, “the BlackBerry Curve portfolio is well-known for offering the form and features you know and love paired with the corporate security features you rely on. The BlackBerry Curve 9350 raises that bar with BlackBerry 7 OS.”

Surprisingly for a low- mid-budget smartphone, Curve 9350 comes with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.

The handset comes with a 2.44-inch display with 480 x 360 pixels resolution, touch-sensitive optical trackpad and full QWERTY keyboard.

BlackBerry Curve 9350 is equipped with an 800 MHz processor and packs 512 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card pre-installed).

The phone is 3G-enabled and offers users broadband-like download speeds from 400 to 700 Kbps, with peak rates up to 2 Mbps.

The 5-megapixel camera on the back features LED flash and video recording capabilities, but lacks autofocus.

Among the connectivity options offered by the smartphone there's Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, along with microUSB and GPS with A-GPS support.

The phone's 1040 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 6 hours of talk time.
