Two new QWERTY smartphones for Canada

Telus, the third largest mobile operator in Canada, is now offering two new smartphones to its customers: BlackBerry Curve 8330 and Motorola Q 9c. Both smartphones are available in the US, and now it's time for Canadian users to benefit from their features.

The latest handset from RIM's Curve series, BlackBerry Curve 8330 comes to Telus dressed in "liquid silver" assorted with "chrome highlights". The smallest BlackBerry to pack a full QWERTY keyboard, Curve 8330 is created to be your easy-to-use smartphone, bringing features like email, organizer, built-in GSP (with Telus Navigator), maps, Instant Messaging, pre-loaded Facebook application, 2 Megapixel camera with flash and video, Music player, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, microSD card support and so on.

BlackBerry Curve 8330 is offered by Telus for $249.99 with a 3-year contract agreement, $449.99 with a 2-year contract and $499.99 with a contract for only one year. Or, if you want to buy the smartphone free of contract, you'll have to pay $549.99.

Like the BlackBerry handset, Motorola Q 9c (or Moto Q 9c) also features a full QWERTY keyboard. Moto Q 9c runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 and it's one of the slimmest smartphones on the market (11.9 millimeters). The handset comes with a 2.4 display, Documents to Go (allowing you to edit Microsoft Office documents), GPS with Telus Navigator, EVDO dual band connectivity for high-speed data downloads, email, Instant Messaging, microSD card slot, Bluetooth, USB, 1.3 Megapixel camera, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for music and video playback.

Moto Q 9c costs less than BlackBerry Curve 8330 and it comes for $149.99 with a contract for 3 years, $349.99 with a 2-year contract, $399.99 with an 1-year contract, and $449.99 without a contract agreement.

The availability of BlackBerry Curve 8330 and Moto Q 9c from Telus is definitely good news for Canadian users, as they now have more choices when it comes to buying a reliable smartphone.
