Verizon Wireless expands its line of smartphones with the release of Moto Q9c, also known as Motorola Q 9c or Motorola Q9c (without space between "Q" and "9c"). Actually, you can call it however you want to, because in the end it's the same device.

Motorola Q9c is presented by Verizon as being an ideal handset for "business professionals who are on-the-road", coming with several useful features, including Verizon Wireless' VZ Navigator GPS service which provides access to over 14 million points of interest. With the Q9c smartphone, users can receive maps as well as audible and visual turn-by-turn directions, and can locate various business meeting destinations, restaurants, ATMs and so on.

Running on Windows Mobile 6 Standard, Moto Q9c offers the ability to configure IMAP4 and POP3 e-mail accounts and comes with Documents To Go, an application that enables reading, editing and creating Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Other features that make Moto Q9c an excellent smartphone include a full QWERTY keyboard optimized for accurate and speedy typing, a 2.4 inch TFT display (320 x 240 pixels), advanced Internet and multimedia capabilities, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with flash and video recording, 128MB of built-in memory plus removable memory support for up to 32 GB.

Talking about the Verizon - Motorola collaboration, Juergen Stark, corporate vice president of Productivity, Mobile Devices, Motorola, Inc., said, "Verizon Wireless has embraced the MOTO Q family, recognizing that not all smartphone users have the same priorities. Verizon Wireless customers can find the MOTO Q that meets their multi-tasking needs, while on-the-go."

The new Moto Q9c will be available starting April 2008 at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores as well as on line, via Verizon's website. The smartphone is priced at 249.99 bucks, with a $50 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract agreement.
