Canadian mobile phone users interested in the purchase of a new BllackBerry handset from wireless carrier Rogers can now choose the very new BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone, which has just made a debut on the operator's offering. The new handset, which was brought to shelves as the successor of Bold 9700, sports the familiar Bold design, while delivering a nice range of new, appealing features.

The Bold 9780 brings the popular Bold form factor and the new BlackBerry 6 OS together. The 9780 comes with a brand new, dynamic user interface, social networking and a richer mobile browsing experience,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone is available for purchase at Rogers with a price tag of $149.99 attached to it, upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

In case there are some interested in purchasing the smartphone without a contract agreement, they would have to pay $499.99 for it.

Other options are also available for Canadians, including having the device on a 2-year contract agreement with a price tag if $399.99 attached to it, or on a one-year agreement, case in which the phone costs $449.99, the same as on prepaid options.

The specifications list of the new device includes a 2.44-inch display that boasts a 480 x 360 pixels resolution, complemented by the QWERTY keyboard, and the BlackBerry OS 6.0.

The new mobile phone also comes with 512 MB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32 GB of additional storage space.

A 5.0-megapixel photo snapper has been included into the mix as well, along with support for 3G networks (3.6 Mbps), Wi-Fi, GPS receiver, and a nice range of services.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone measures 109 x 60 x 14.1 mm and weighs in at 122 g. it can be purchased from Rogers' website here.
