The Blackberry Bold 9650 has just been tagged as "available" by the U.S. Cellular carrier starting tomorrow August 18th. The smartphone supports high-speed EV-DO Rev. A networks in North America, as well as UMTS/HSPA (2100Mhz) and quad-band EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks abroad.

Blackberry Bold 9650 ships with Blackberry 5 OS, but seems to be Blackberry 6 ready. Those looking for a Blackberry 6 device should know that Bold 9650 is expected to be receive an upgrade in the coming months.

The smartphone comes with a brilliant 2.44-inches HVGA+ display (480 x 360 pixels resolution) and a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and image stabilization.   It also boasts 512 MB internal memory and a microSD slot for memory expansion that supports up to 32 GB cards (2 GB card included).

"When you combine the BlackBerry Bold with our industry-first programs such as Overage Protection and Battery Swap, our customers can have a powerful smartphone with a unique wireless experience," said Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular.

"The international voice and data capabilities of the BlackBerry Bold give our customers options while traveling for business or with their friends and families," Perez continued.

Other features of the smartphone include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, microUSB port, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, GPS with A-GPS support (BlackBerry maps), Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF).

Bold 9650 features a full-QWERTY keyboard, which makes it easy to type comfortable and accurately. It also comes with an optical trackpad, that allows smooth scrolling through menus and icons.

Some U.S. Cellular-centric applications are also included with the smartphone, such as My Contacts Backup, Tone Room Deluxe and Your Navigator Deluxe.

Those interested can get Blackberry Bold 9650 for about $159.95 after a $70 rebate on a new two-year contract. The smartphone should be available online and in U.S. Cellular stores starting tomorrow.
