New horror adventure game announced

The classic point and click adventure genre is back again with Black Mirror 2, the sequel to the great horror adventure Black Mirror - a game which still has lots of fans and people playing it. Created by unknown German developers Cranberry Productions, the game promises to be a true sequel for the original title and offer the same scary adventure and tension. We really hope they will manage to do as promised since the first game was a real joy - it had over 150 locations for us to explore and no less than 5 hours of dialog and fans would like to receive even more this time.

Black Mirror 2 will be a 2.5 adventure (3D characters and 2D backgrounds) and it brings a rather strange story. We really hope this is just a wrong impression created by the fact that the game is in its early development stages. So, here it goes: the events in the game take place in 1990, twelve years after the first episode (and it seems to have almost no connections to it). Our new hero, Darren, while working at the local photo shop, meets a beautiful girl named Angelina (are all beautiful girls named Angelina nowadays?) but things won't be easy for him. Darren's despotic boss seems to have a crush on the girl and, to make things even spicier, a mysterious third person is interested in Angelina. Now things get a little blurry and, I repeat, I hope that it's because the story is still unfinished. Because everything the developers say is, "So Darren decides to investigate these incidents" and we start asking ourselves, "which incidents?".

There are no answers (yet) to that question, but the game's publisher dtp Entertainment Senior Producer Achim Heidelauf said, "Cranberry Productions is responsible for developing and technically realizing Black Mirror 2 since the beginning of 2008. Additionally, the team of Bremen/Germany based developer King Art takes care for story and gameplay design. Professional story authors have also been involved in creating the game's storyboard, so players can look forward to playing a thrilling, scary adventure game that features dramaturgy and tension." Let's just hope he is right.
