BitFenix has just announced that it will soon expand its product lineup to feature two new Merc mid-tower ATX gaming enclosures, which were designed to deliver impressive feature and styling at a low price point.

Inside these chassis, users can accommodate a wide variety of hardware, including long graphics cards, up to three 5.25-inch optical drives or seven 3.5-inch hard drives.

Those who want to install 2.5-inch hard drives or solid state disks will also be glad to know the Merc cases also come with a 5.25-inch drive bay, built especially for this purpose.

In addition, the Merc Alpha can be configured with up to eight 120mm fans (the Beta can “only” accommodate six such fans) and also features a large cutout on the motherboard tray, which enables users to swap the CPU cooler without having to remove the motherboard.

The two Merc cases were also designed to include a series of holes to ease cable routing, while all the optical and hard disk drives are secured with easy-to-use thumbscrews.

The Power and Reset buttons are placed on the top of the case and these are accompanied by four USB 2.0 ports any by two 3.5mm audio jacks to connect a headset.

"Packed with premium features and BitFenix design DNA, users will see that we didn't cut any corners with Merc," says BitFenix Product Manager David Jarlestedt.

"From the clean yet bold design, to the black interior coating, quality black cabling, and robust connectivity, cooling and cable management features, gamers will be hard-pressed to find a better value enclosure in this segment," concluded the company's rep.

BitFenix Merc Alpha and Merc Beta will be available on store shelves beginning August 2011 with an estimated MSRP of 32.90€ (incl. 19% VAT) or $39 US, depending on which side of the pond you happen to live.
