Biostar has just announced the introduction of a new budget friendly motherboard that is built around the H67 chipset and offers support for Intel's second-generation Core processors as well as for the integrated graphics engine built inside these CPUs.

The board is called the H67MH and uses a fairly simple design that drops most of the features associated with H67 motherboards in order to offer an entry-level solution for users interested in building a cheap Sandy Bridge system.

Although one could certainly argue that the H61 Express is much better fitted for this role, the H67 Express chipset brigs some nice extras to the table such as SATA 6Gbps and GPU overclocking support which could make it a better solution as long as the price is kept in check.

Moving back to the H67MH, Biostar has decided to tweak the layout of the board a little and moved the two DIMM slots to the right of the CPU socket, to improve the amount of airflow that reaches the CPU area, but otherwise the motherboard is pretty standard as far as low-end solutions go.

This means that we get a limited number of PCI Express slots, just one PCIe x16 and a PCIe x1, and a pair or regular PCI slots.

The board's PWM area is also pretty simple as it uses a 3+2 phase design, but we do get a full six SATA ports, including two 6Gbps SATA connectors.

Moving to the back, Biostar has included only the bear minimum as the H67MH packs four USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 and a Gigabit Ethernet port, 5.1 channel audio (no S/PDIF), and HDMI, D-Sub and dual-link DVI video outputs.

Pricing has not been announced yet by the company, but it's expected to stay under the $99.99 mark judging by its feature list.
