Anything's possible, Muzyka says

As we all learned last week, Electronic Arts has decided to join together two of its most profitable studios specialized in role-playing games, BioWare and Mythic, under one roof and under one command structure.

Even though some people were excited about this move and intrigued by the new chain of command, many were already pondering what future collaborations we might see between the two studios, which have both given birth to many exciting titles, from Mass Effect to Warhammer Online.

The new Chief of the studio and Co-founder of BioWare, Dr. Ray Muzyka, has revealed to Kotaku that, in terms of future collaborations, everything's possible, but it will take some time before a project may appear, which will be worth investing on. This won't mean that such a joint effort won't be encouraged, though.

“Anything's possible,” Muzyka says. “We can't say it wouldn't happen. There's no active plans, currently to do that, but the teams at Mythic and BioWare I know from talking to all of them, they're really excited about working together, so I think that fuels a lot of cool things. People start talking about 'Hey, wouldn't it be neat if we did this, or did this together?' That kind of thing might evolve over time.”

So, it seems that RPG fans need to keep their fingers crossed in order to see something interesting made by the two highly successful studios. Do you think that the collaboration between them will mean the birth of some huge projects, or will it dampen the creative potential from the two teams? Is the opportunity of a Mass Effect Online or another such project making you interested? Leave us a comment with your opinion on what BioWare and Mythic should work on in the near future, besides their already announced projects.
