In the United Kingdom chart

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The previous week saw Mass Effect 2, the role playing space opera made by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts, go down from its first place perch to numb eight in the United Kingdom videogame chart while BioShock 2, the 2K-made underwater shooter, which sees the player go back to Rapture in the heavily armored skin of a Big Daddy, managed to take the number one position in its first week on sale.

Despite the change at the top, Just Dance from Ubisoft, a simple dancing title that relies on a low price and a list of songs featuring a lot of modern pop hits, is still sitting at number two, proving that a well made casual title can stay near the top for quite a while under the right conditions. It will be interesting to see if Just Dance manages to hold on enough to see BioShock 2 itself replaced at the top. FIFA 10 from EA Sports, the football simulation, succeeded in climbing to third place from fifth, no doubt spurred on by the return of the Champions League and by the advertising deployed in regular matches in England. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from Infinity Ward and Activision is in fourth place, dropping by one, while Wii Sports Resort is at five, one place up from six.

New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Wii is also climbing up two places, showing that classic Mario jumping and running never really gets old, while Wii Fit Plus is up by the same amount of places, just ahead of Mass Effect 2. Dante's Inferno from EA Games has also seen a big drop, going from four to nine, while Bayonetta from SEGA sits at number ten. The recent Super Bowl spectacle brought Madden NFL 10 out of retirement, making it reach number 14 in the videogame top 20.
