On Thursday, Big Fish Games announced the launch of a new application for iPhone and iPad, dubbed Big City Adventure: San Francisco. According to the company, the new solution comes with integrated peer-to-peer multiplayer gameplay with voice chat, being the first game app to include such functionalities on Apple's devices.

According to the applications' developing team, the Big City Adventure: San Francisco game can offer friends the possibility to easily share the fun of hidden object challenges, while also enabling them to chat while competing to find the items that have been hidden among famous San Francisco sites.

“Big City Adventure: San Francisco turns mobile gaming into a social experience using iPhone and iPad’s built-in networks – WiFi, 3G and EDGE,” said Patrick Wylie, vice president of Big Fish Games Studios. “Friends can chat while playing against each other from wherever they are in the world. We’ve also developed a native app for iPad, offering an HD version with high-resolution graphics so you can see with incredible detail when zooming in on the larger screen.”

The Big City Adventure: San Francisco application engages players in a treasure hunt through San Francisco, in which they would have to search for thousands of hidden objects. When advancing through the game, players have to collect postcards with interesting facts about the city and its history, with the possibility to send these postcards to friends on Facebook.

The new title comes with a number of 48 rounds of treasure hunting, along with 48 rounds of mini-games, such as jigsaw puzzles, matching objects, and memory challenges. According to the company, “Big City Adventure: San Francisco was originally designed by Jolly Bear Games as a PC download and retail game. The iPad and iPhone versions integrate Z2Live’s multiplayer and voice chat solutions, which connects people over WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G and EDGE network.”

The new Big City Adventure: San Francisco apps for iPhone and iPad are available for purchase for $4.99 U.S. and $6.99 U.S., respectively. The solutions have been released in five languages, including English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese, and can be downloaded from the App Store.
