14 DAY TRIAL // Ever since the scandal broke this summer, as tapes of an enraged Mel Gibson made by ex Oksana Grigorieva emerged, the Russian singer has kept very quiet about the whole sordid affair – but she won’t stay that way for long.
Though she only spoke out once on the Mel Gibson controversy, Oksana is now negotiating with various major media outlets for her first tell-all televised interview.
Understandably, networks are locked in a huge bidding war to secure the interview, Radar Online reports, with the two strongest contenders being Oprah Winfrey and 60 Minutes.
“Oksana Grigorieva is at the centre of a television tug-of-war with Oprah and the big networks vying to land the first sit-down interview, Radar Online has exclusively learned,” Radar writes.
Though it’s not known whether camp Grigorieva contacted the networks for the interview or they came to her with offers, things are progressing in the right direction – for the singer.
As is always the case with celebrity scandals, Oksana stands to make a lot of money for her story, which is why she’s probably driving a very hard bargain with networks right now.
“Talks are underway. Oksana’s camp is talking to at least one other major network in addition to CBS,” an unnamed source reveals for Radar.
“Oksana has a very powerful story to tell, from emigrating to the United States from Russia, her marriage to Timothy Dalton, her music career and the volatile relationship with Mel Gibson,” the same spy dishes.
Oksana Grigorieva was in a relationship with Hollywood actor and director Mel Gibson for a little over a year (as per some reports), having become an item shortly before he divorced wife Robyn.
The two have a daughter Lucia and are currently locked in a bitter he-said, she-said war in court over the money Lucia should get from her estranged father and claims of domestic violence.
Speaking to Radar a while back, in what is her first interview since the scandal, Oksana urged Gibson to speak the “truth” for the sake of their baby girl.
“I think Mel, basically, is trivializing domestic violence. It is unfair that by standing up to somebody – and speaking out – I am being victimized all over again. He has hurt so many people I feel like I am being victimized all over again,” she also said at the time.
“No, I have never tried to extort anything from him. There is no proof of anything. It is all false information he is feeding the press. It is a smear campaign, clearly, to me. I am absolutely convinced of that... It is very unfair,” Oksana said.
