It’s been a rough couple of months for Russian singer and former girlfriend of Mel Gibson, Oksana Grigorieva. She is now battling the actor in court for the custody of their 8-month daughter Lucia, while also making some pretty serious accusations of domestic violence based on a series of tapes now freely circulating on the net. Radar Online caught up with Oksana and asked her a few questions, including how she feels about the entire Mel Gibson scandal.

Sadly, she can’t speak to the media about her current situation because of a court order that literally gags her from doing so until an understanding is reached. Still, Oksana does say that she believes Mel Gibson is trivializing domestic violence with his denial that their relationship was an abusive one, indirectly urging him to speak the truth for the sake of the child they have together. She also promises Radar that, the moment the court order allows her to, she will openly talk about all this.

“I think Mel, basically, is trivializing domestic violence. It is unfair that by standing up to somebody – and speaking out – I am being victimized all over again. He has hurt so many people I feel like I am being victimized all over again. No, I have never tried to extort anything from him. There is no proof of anything. It is all false information he is feeding the press. It is a smear campaign, clearly, to me. I am absolutely convinced of that... It is very unfair,” Oksana tells Radar in what is her first on the spot interview since the scandal.

Asked about why she’d made the tapes that shocked an entire world, Oksana says it was for her own protection. “Because I didn’t think I was going to make it through the night. Everything, by the way, this is really important, all the tapes that you hear on the Internet, all of them were recorded that one night. The tapes, as you call them, the voicemails, everything was recorded that night because I was in fear for my life. I really did not think I was going to make it,” she says.

When Radar pushes her to say to the camera what she’d say to Gibson if she had the chance to have a heart to heart with him, Oksana responds she’d urge him to speak the truth, assume his share of the blame – not for her sake but for the sake of the child they have together, the baby girl Lucia.
