Beyonce fans, get ready: very soon, the singer will release a brand new album, her fourth to date. Because she feels she has a special connection with the number and given that many fans suggested it to her, Beyonce has named the upcoming release just that: “4.”

The diva makes the announcement in a brand new interview with Billboard magazine, in which she says that she mostly agreed to name the album “4” because of the fans.

This is, if you will, her way of giving something back to them. And, while she may not be the first artist to do that, her gesture is certainly appreciated accordingly.

“Everywhere I look, I see them calling it ‘4.’ I had a whole other name and concept, but I keep seeing that the fans love the name ‘4,’ and I think it would be a really nice thing to let them name the record,” Beyonce says for the music magazine.

Of course, she also feels like she has a special “connection” with the number 4, so that was one reason more to name it that.

“We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me. It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date,” she explains.

As for the album and what fans should expect from it, it will be Beyonce’s most experimental work to date, as she promised in one of her older interviews.

JustJared was at a preview listening party for “4” and is reporting that, indeed, Beyonce played with different sounds and turned to the most unexpected places for inspiration for the tracks included on it.

“I wanted to do something refreshing and different. So I mixed genres and drew inspiration from touring, traveling, watching rock bands, and attending festivals… I was like a mad scientist, putting lots of different songs together,” Beyonce told the e-zine.

She also revealed that the entire record was done with the “performance voice tone.” For more on the album, please refer here.
