A different smartphone will be available every Friday in October

Canadian Android enthusiasts rejoice, as Best Buy plans to offer a different Android smartphone each Friday in October for free.

After showing its love for RIM's BlackBerry OS last week, the retailer announced that October will be entirely dedicated to Google's Android platform.

Those who are willing to sign up for a long term contract will be able to obtain a free Android smartphone each Friday with a new three-year agreement.

Best Buy will be offering five Android smartphones for free during this month: Bell and Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II, TELUS Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 4G, Rogers LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D.

According to Best Buy, “with every new smartphone activation we offer our full Walk Out working service ensuring that you leave our store with a fully functioning device including: free email setup on smartphones, data transfer from your old phone to your new phone and free Bluetooth pairing to your new phone.”

Although the retailer will offer five Android smartphones, and October has only four Fridays, the Galaxy S II from Bell and Virgin Mobile are likely to be retailed the same week.

With the iPhone 4S sales going live next week, it may look like Best Buy is trying to tempt customers into getting an Android smartphone by taking advantage of the “Free Phone Friday” promo.

Either way, those who don't bother long term contracts will probably get their hands on the latest Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone.

Unfortunately, Best Buy does not reveal any details about the release calendar of each Android smartphone, which means that customers should check the retailers site often for the latest information about the “Free Phone Friday” promotion.

We will be updating the news every time a new device will be up for grabbing each Friday this month.
