After announcing the monitor at the beginning of September, BenQ has now started selling the RL2240H 21.5-inch display developed especially to cater to the needs of RTS players.

This is the second monitor developed especially for gaming by the Taiwanese company after the XL2410T model that targeted FPS players.

The monitor was developed together with gaming gear manufacturer Zowie Gear and Startale, a renowned StarCraft 2 professional gaming team sponsored by BenQ since 2011.

In order to deliver to the needs of its target audience, BenQ has introduced quite a few special features in the RL2240H, one of the most important innovations being the so called Black eQualizer.

This technology takes advantage of an exclusively designed color engine that reveals critical combat details with improved visibility in darkened areas.

In addition, users can also adjust the screen's brightness without over-exposing white levels as well as switch into the RTS Mode, a preset mode with tailored monitor calibrations for RTS gaming.

Another feature that is unique to BenQ's gaming monitor is the inclusion of the Display Mode and the Smart Scaling features that allow users to change between a series of preset aspect ratios and screen sizes as well as to manually scale the screen to any custom size.

The predefined settings include 17-inch (4:3), 19-inch (4:3), 19-inch wide (16:10) and 21.5-inch wide (16:9).

The TN panel used for this monitor features a Full HD native resolution, 2ms gray to gray response time, 250 cd/m2 of brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio (12M:1 dynamic contrast) and covers 72% of the RGB color space.

BenQ's monitor features a glassy white chassis and the video outputs installed include D-sub, DVI and HDMI.

The BenQ XL2410T monitor is available right now for purchase with prices set at about £115.12 ($184 US or 133 EUR) including VAT.
